Green Left Philosophies "The insane drive of capital toward unlimited exploitation of limited resources leads inevitably to a depleted and shattered planet. This drive was replicated in the late "socialist" countries. No area on Earth is safe from this overarching global capitalism, under which neither people nor nature will survive. There will be no technical fix for the population explosion, human deprivation, or environmental degradation. A new challenge to capitalism is not readily apparent, since its present hegemony extends into every sphere of society,.controlling not only our labor but our thought.
